My VB Cable control panel statistics show that maximum buffer size I'm getting is b256 but still for some reason VB Cable didn't work flawlessly with maximum latency of 768 samples so I had to set it to 1536.

VB Cable has buffers for input, internal processing and output, so three in total. Maximum latency is the sum of latencies for all of the three buffers. This is in line with the maximum latency of 1536 samples I have configured in VB Cable Control Panel. I tested latencies with Audacity overdub recording and got a bit more than 30ms of extra latency compared to using the physical sound device directly. If this solution was bugged for me like the Voicemeeter is I'm sure I would have noticed already. So I've been using VB Cable for a week right now and had zero issues. You might want to set all sampling rates to same value (VBCABLE_ControlPanel.exe in istall folder, VB Cable playback device, CABLE Output recording device and physical playback device.ĭoes anyone know if there is any benefits from using Voicemeeter instead of VB Cable? After this you'll need to listen to the CABLE Output recording device by selecting Properties and checking "Listen to this device" and selecting the correct physical sound device as the output on the "Listen" tab.

You'll need to install VB Cable, set it as default playback device, install Equalizer APO to it, configure it as 7.1. Feed output from Out of Your Head into physical device and install Equalizer APO to that physical sound device and you'll have working surround sound on stereo device with all the fancy things HeSuVi has.

Normally the software costs $150 but can be used indefinitely with the bypass mode for free (which is what we want). Out of Your Head could work but I had a lot of problems with it. So if you use Razer surround and feed output from there to a physical sound device and install equalizer apo to that device you'll have working surround setup but two virtualizations running at the same time.

Razer surround works but there is no way to have the virtual sound device on without surround virtualization. I looked into different options for achieving the same thing. However many people have problems with Voicemeeter including myself. Surround sound can be enabled with stereo only sound cards with Voicemeeter as described in the wiki.
